In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Buford; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Georgia are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Buford is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Buford is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Georgia's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Came here in summer 2026 (July '26) with family during their soft opening and have to say they are doing a great thing. We ordered a mix of dumplings and some dim sum and specialty drinks. Their menu was somewhat limited due to their soft opening but for what they did serve we were very well pleased. Service was friendly and restaurant was clean and relaxed. They seemed to be pretty busy for a Monday afternoon. Ambiance is very modern and feels like you are transported to China as the decor is quite well done. Now for the food.. the dumplings and dim sum were absolutely fantastic. Drinks were on point and I would say their location is dynamite. Located in the Mall of Georgia right across from Red Robin. Parking is the only thing I would say is a little tricky as their shared parking lot was packed. Service wise, Loreal was absolutely awesome and very friendly as well helpful and efficient. Southern hospitality with fast and quick service. She checked on us and made sure our entire meal was on point along with the manager who was also very kind. Wishing Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings all the best with their grand opening and a truly welcome addition to Buford. 5 stars and than

Had dinner here during the soft opening. Wait was extremely long, but luckily we were able to use the app and get in line and walk around the mall. We did get dumplings but we forgot to get pics. Although the menu was limited, it was very delicious! We will definitely be back.

I went with family yesterday for lunch, I was anticipating a lot, considering it was a michelin star awarded soup dumpling restaurant. 9 years consecutive. We ordered a bunch of food, and I will say it was a little underwhelming. Some of the items were amazing, but some were a little bland or a little too salty. Considering it was soft opening as well. My expectations were a little low. We got all 3 soup dumplings that were available. The nan xiang original dumplings was good. It had a good flavor, the crab dumplings was very crab forward, like it had a very strong fishy smell. The chicken dumpling was very bland. The vinegar and soy with the chili oil helped, but the soup was very bland. The pork, shrimp, and veg dumplings in spicy peanut sauce was fine. The beef udon stir fry was a little salty, but good flavor The beef braised noodle was very good, the flavor was rich, and flavorful, and the beef was super tender. Just broke apart in my mouth. Shrimp fried rice was on point. A little too much oily. All I had was oil and an oil after taste in my mouth The green beans was probably my favorite thing on the menu. Good seasoning. And lots of good flavor For drinks we got the gree

Review based only on Soft Opening. My soup dumpling background: 1. Ding Tai Fun - Taipei 101/Taichung/Vegas/Shanghai (Soho) 2. Nan Xiang Mantou Dian (Shanghai - Yu Garden) 3. Joe's Shanghai (NYC) This place is good. Honestly, better than ANY soup dumpling place in the US outside of Vegas/LA/NYC. Are there places locally that make good/great soup dumplings? Yes, However, Nan Xiang in Buford takes it to a higher level. Flavors are savory but more complex and offers more dimension than the average local spot. I'll reserve any harsh criticisms for now as this is just a soft opening and they're still tweaking everything. A few things that come to mind immediately that can be improved on: 1. Pork soup dumplings are a bit too lean. It almost tastes like chicken soup dumplings as far as soup and texture. Some folks might enjoy that but for me, I expect the pork to be rich and savory where as chicken should be a bit leaner but that's just me. 2. Chicken soup lacking a bit of flavor. Also, white meat texture is a bit tough dry and soup is currently too one-dimensional. Possibly offer Yunnan Style Clay pot with more "chicken" flavor. 3. Crab Roe Dumplings - LEGIT 4. Shumai - LEGIT 5. Bee
